With Meta efficiently poaching a lot of its senior researchers, an OpenAI govt reportedly reassured staff members Saturday that firm management has not “been standing idly by.”
“I really feel a visceral feeling proper now, as if somebody has damaged into our house and stolen one thing,” Chief Analysis Officer Mark Chen wrote in a Slack memo obtained by Wired.
In response to what seems to be a Meta hiring spree, Chen mentioned that he, CEO Sam Altman, and different OpenAI leaders have been working “across the clock to speak to these with gives,” and so they’ve “been extra proactive than ever earlier than, we’re recalibrating comp, and we’re scoping out artistic methods to acknowledge and reward prime expertise.”
Over the previous week, varied press reviews have famous eight researchers who departed OpenAI for Meta. Altman even complained on a podcast that Meta was providing “$100 million signing bonuses,” an outline that Meta executives have pushed again towards internally.
